The Black Phone is a 2022 horror and thriller film that skillfully executes suspense, excitement and anxiety all in one. The movie follows 13 year old Finney Blake who is abducted and kept in a soundproof basement of a sadistic killer nicknamed “The Grabber". There, he discovers a disconnected phone, from which The Grabber’s previous victims attempt to prevent Finney from experiencing the same fate that they did.

Knives Out is a 2019 comedy, crime, and drama movie about a wealthy crime novelist, Harlan Thrombey, who is found dead in his house after his 85th birthday. An inquisitive and debonair detective Benoit Blanc mysteriously finds his way investigating this new case. He becomes en-tangled in Harlan's dysfunctional family, as he combs his way through the family lies and uncovers the truth of Harlan's untimely death.

The Prestige is a 2006 mystery, drama, and thriller that takes place in the late 19th century. The movie follows Alfred Borden, his friend Robert Angier, and his wife Julia McCullough, who are all assistants to a magician. Tragically, Julia is involved in a fatal accident during a failed performance and Robert blames Alfred for the death of his wife. They both become famous magicians fueled by rivalry as they continuously compete and sabotage each other's performance. Alfred is successful in a particularly difficult magic trick and Robert becomes obsessed with disclosing his secret, not seeing the consequences of his actions.
