Why do you want to run to be a class officer at ICA Cristo Rey?

I believe that all students have the power to make a change. We all have a "Voice". During the start of this school year--I was all alone, a person who came from across the Bay. I knew absolutely not a single person at ICA Cristo Rey. That all changed, when I showed that I had a “Voice”--a “Voice” that brought change and impacted every single student in the school. This change that I brought about is when Dr. Fornero approved my recommendation of adjusting the schedule. Throughout my elementary years of school, I always thought to myself how I could bring about change and help to improve every student's experience. However, I was always the shy one and encouraged others to speak up, but I realized that--I myself can make a difference. I told myself I would challenge myself to engage in High School and create a positive impact not only in my own growth, but to help others to grow, as well. If given the opportunity to run for class officer, I will be able to meet new people and it will not only help me to develop the skills that I already have, but it will also allow me to gain new ones, such as, leadership skills. I will be able to create new opportunities and a positive experience for my peers.

How do you plan to increase school spirit and participation among your class next year?

One might ask, how do you increase school spirit? This can be brought about by creating more extracurricular activities and fun events where each student can engage. However, I feel that if you bring a positive attitude to the table--it will bring about positive experiences and more students would want to participate because of the pride they have in their school. I believe that “Teamwork” gets the job done. Along with my fellow sophomore class officers, we can make ICA a more exciting place—A place where we can be proud of who we are and what we will become. We hold the future in our hands.

Why do you want to run to be a class officer at ICA Cristo Rey?

I want to run to be Class Officer at ICA Cristo Rey because I feel that I can help to bring in new ideas for the school. I also want to run because the Class of 2024 should have a good experience at ICA although we have been in a pandemic for a year now. Another reason why I want to run is for the opportunity for leadership and helping out our school.

How do you plan to increase school spirit and participation among your class next year?

I plan to increase school spirit and participation among my class next year by really knowing what they would want to see and the things they would feel comfortable with. I will also want to help plan things with the School's interest (things that I know they will like). By doing that I feel that will increase spirit and participation to events.

Why do you want to run to be a class officer at ICA Cristo Rey?

I would like to run for class officer at ICA Cristo Rey because it would give me an opportunity to advocate for my grade. Becoming a class officer can also help me gain many skills. For example class officers can gain public speaking skills, leadership skills, and can motivate me to keep my grades up. I also like to plan and help set up events. Being part of the club can also help me improve my resume. I would also love to run for class officer because I can meet and work with other students and teachers. Overall, becoming a class officer is an amazing opportunity.

How do you plan to increase school spirit and participation among your class next year?

I plan to increase participation and school spirit among my class by having students vote on events and making sure they are interested in events or activities we plan. I also plan to bring in new ideas. For example we can hold a spirit day where students dress up as one of their teachers or we can have a day where students show off their culture through clothing, objects, or food. Another thing we can use to increase participation is the class points we get for engaging in spirit days. I hope to be a class officer and work with other class officers to plan fun activities for the students and promote school spirit.
